Reykjavík International Games 2027

23 janúar, 2027 - 31 janúar, 2027

The city of Reykjavik will, for the 20th time, welcome sports participants to a multisport competition in Reykjavik taking place at the end of January 2027.

Athletes compete at a high level in various sports. The venue of the games will in most cases be the sports area of Laugardalur. Events will include athletics, swimming, fencing, crossfit, shooting, dance, table tennis, cycling, powerlifting, badminton, figure skating, karate, bowling, weightlifting, judo, taekwondo, chess, climbing, beach volleyball, darts and esports. Some are a part of international circuits and/or give points to world ranking lists. Reykjavik Sports Union is the organizer, supported by the city of Reykjavik and our proud sponsors.

Lectures in collaboration with the local sport associations, and Reykjavik University have become an important part of the schedule. Closing ceremonies, among other things, will keep the athletes happy and entertained and they will also have the opportunity to visit Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland with all its sights and sounds. Hopefully they might also see the northern lights!

We anticipate that the Games will draw around 3.000 participants including more than 1.000 foreigners from around 50 countries and many of them among the best in the world.
